Sarbay Fest Day 2

Second days should always have a step up in festivals such as this one and yes - It was so freaking awesome! Well not that the party itself but the people who I was partying with. Oh God, I would just like to emphasize on how amazed I was with the parking area line. I know this was a problem during the onset but it got worse to the an extensive level during the second day and I’m not even exaggerating.

On the 1st day we can park at Rosal beach but on the second day it was approximately 500 meters away from the police station. Could you just imagine how far that was? So we again had to ride a tricycle and remember to bring everything this time. We bought booze and lots of them. Champagne, Bacardi gold, black label and my ever favorite TANDUAY! Oh yeah! Not embarrassed. I love Tanduay. (So old school I know)
We had to attend this party in Digos first. Kinda a formal event so we were very late around 11pm. It was actually just the right time for the party. We were greeted by the fireworks display. You know how fascinated Dabawenyos are when it comes to seeing fireworks. It’s like were drawn and hypnotized by its flare. We are fireworks deprived back in our City, I know.

When we entered the gate, we were greeted by our friends from Tagum. The people that we partied with at Destination Summer. Not really a coincidence, a lot of partyphiles where there. The crowd just like the parking space was intense and were very very friendly. From the food booths to the shore you can barely move around. Let me tell you an honest story, I know some of my friends wont forgive me but I’m a fan of Kamikazee. #SorryNotSorry I just had to hide my total fascination of this band by drinking alcohol and listening to their loud but well-thought lyrics.

While I was walking there were a lot of picture taking, hi and hellos from old friends. Wait someone grabbed my ass for like the 5th time that night. Oh well, not really bothered. It was so fun and awesome.  Some people already fainted in the shore line. So early to be drunk dude!

Finally Kamikazee finished their set. Next up is the party. DJ Kristina Badkiss actually did a pretty good job with her electro house music. It’s a good start for conversation to neutralize the hype that the band gave. Sad thing some people didn't really appreciate classy old school genres. She was boo-ed and was very humble to step down for the EDM fanatics. It’s so sad actually. Kudos to you Girl. Davao (in the VIP area) still loves you.

Now, lemme see… I don’t wanna forgo this one. The VIP area on the second day was really for VIPs.  Tickets ran out but the area is still spacious. Good thing I had friends that can let people in or else I was a goner. Thank you friends from high places in society. The peasant loves you oh so dearly. LOL There was a time when everyone was on stage. It was really fun but I understood the organizers when they decided to clear out the stage. Everyone was so heavy that the stage might collapse.

The guards were too busy barricading the main doors and scolding people that went on the stage rather than guarding the fences and make sure that non VIP can have entered that area. Actually the baryo-tic people who did budots on stage were the ones who jumped on the stage even after the organizers sent off the warning. Not very classy. I know. They stopped the music like 4-6 times just because they were to drunk and dumb to understand instructions. (LOL, look who’s talking.) Sorry I can’t help it, it was fun to let people drink from the bottle while you’re on stage.

But this pic is very sexy.
DJ Yancy, I don’t really know who he is but some people say that he is the best DJ in town. I don’t know what and where that town is-- I really beg to disagree. Honestly, he played the same set the other night. He started again with years, then the track from John Legend and this music from 2009 yeah yeah yeah very cardio-ish. It’s like I’m running on a treadmill. We were not very pleased. Another fact is that he was on over time that there weren’t no more room for other DJs. Such a fame whore! As right after DJ Adonis hyped the crowd up; he again played his last track. My God! My friends just walked out. (You are only as good as your latest set and the taste is sort of old and outdated #sorrynotsorry)
DJ ADONIS
I’m going to feature two of the up and coming DJs of Davao. This is actually their biggest break yet. DJ Adonis (EDM tracks) and DJ Amneesia (Progressive house, Techno and EDM). They were really awesome! From giving the right transitions, to song selections and variation. I love them! The future is coming, they just need great parties to back them up and this is a good start. Too bad they played a lil bit late 3am-4:30am. I guess. So it was really a great ender. Partying till dawn. Love it!
DJ AMNEESIA
One of the biggest problems during SARBAY was the CR - the long line just to reach the comfort rooms. LOL Other than that. IDGAF! I really had FUN!

So to conclude, the party was basically, almost free. The DJs were not bad. Booze was available. The crowd was awesome. It was a place filled with adventure; any kind of adventure you can think of. Why would I rate this? I will just see you next year. Truly SARBAY fest is the biggest festival in MINDANAO. Like--- EVER! KEEP IT UP!

And to those who were not there too bad its SOURbay fest for you. Well there’s always next year.

SarBay2014 Day 1

I don't wanna bother analyzing how it is possible to gather 100,000+ people in a very far away land. It's like a a vow, commitment, "PANATA" for the lack of better terms. Honestly it was my first time to go to SARBAY so am like part of the 40% increase of people RAVING and doing crazy in SARBAY. I blogged about all the activities for reference but you know I'm not a travel blogger so lets just focus on the important shit which is... THE PARTY.

I was there for two nights. But I never really experienced the camping out-- roughin' it up thingy. I wanted to but there were some things that I really had to attend to in between hours. I guess well be doing that next year. We knew for a fact that during rave parties we really had problems about parking space. But dude this was like multiplied the nth times over. We had to ride a tricycle going to the venue or else we would have looked awful after the 1.5 km hilly road.

I was kinda frustrated at first when there was no music playing. All I heard was the yapping of the host for the bikini contest and other shit that I didn't even want to find out about. So we just strolled around met our friends in the tent area. It was kinda fun seeing alot of friends in the area. If you're a partyphile for like a decade you sure would know alot of people and before we got to our destination I was already tipsy since friends gave me a shot or two. Can't complain, it was fun seeing old friends. In the tent area, we just hit it off have awesome conversation and unlimited booze. Plus we can smoke everywhere. This was the life.

After a while it became a lil bit boring. Luckily the DJ played, Years by Alesso. We left everything and ran all the way to the crowd. Well not everything, we bought two bottles of my favorite rum.

I saw this post about the VIP access but the organizer's table was empty during night time. They should have put on a sign like "VIP Tickets" Sold at the side stage. That's why me and my friends tried to squeeze ourselves in to the crowd. Then we saw this barricade. And I asked myself, why am I not in that area again? I didn't want to party with; as my friend would call them "Chararat people"-- and me just, common people. I hope you understand. I just can't. So we wen't to the side stage and brought our tickets. It was worth 250 bucks not bad we already had some freebies and a bottle of Tanduay Ice.
In the first set, the DJ was doing okay when he played some EDM tracks. Nothing spectacular actually but its really a good way to pump up the crowd. I saw alot of action. Oh, well I'm also guilty myself. Everyone in the crowd was very friendly. So I can't help but just MOMOL someone that I randomly danced with. Unlike some people that don't even know how to dance. Sorry, you're not a partyphile if you're just at a wall flower. #JustSaying

I foam was nice, no allergic reaction. It was good because it didn't came to a point that the foam because suffocating was actually just enough.

We had to wash the foam off good thing that some of my friend bought their over sized water gun. No, we didn't put liquor on it. It was just plain water to wash the foam away. I keep on saying "HIT me harder".
I honestly don't know how this happened. Foam ended around 1am. It's actually a good thing. I don't like too much foam anyway. I'm pretty sure that there were a lot of beautiful people on the first day. Or they just look better when I'm drunk. LOL You be the judge!

Overall, I enjoyed the first day. It was was nasty, it was dirty and see I don't even wanna talk about the details.

See my Day two post. I don't wanna rate now because this is yet to be conclusive.

And oh did I tell you about the girl that was thrown a bottle of beer on her head? I don't know the whole story. That's why people who drinks from the bottle have a bad reputation because of you people. They think we will throw it at each other's heads. LOL

#Summer2014-- What's left of it.

I'm going to give everyone a rundown of parties left for Summer 2014. To be fair I'm gonna give you the parties that I know and the parties that I will go to. Follow at your own risk.

May 16-17, 2014
#SarBayFest2014
Going

This is ofcourse the ever famous Sarangani Bay Festival. I'm sure all of you knows about this one. One of my organizer friends told me that they will be expecting around 30,000 people Raving, Relaxing and frolicking. Looks like a social adventure. If you don't have a hotel yet, then you are one of us. Hippy mode that's the shit am talking about. We just gonna party all night and feel the presence of every pips there-- as long as we have the right booze, the right crowd to be with and good music to listen to. Partyphiles are all good.

To Be more informative This is the festival's schedule. I know there are private parties at resorts so lest just go with the flow.

I posted the rules because I wanted to emphasize that we can drink from the bottle. Wooohooot! Not written there.

May 16-17, 2014
Acropolis Superclub Grand Opening
Not Going

If you're not raving with us at SarBay you might wanna consider coming to Acropolis. It's actually an old place but they will be reopening. I might drop by after it open. The good thing is there are two party openings one is themed Reminisce and the other is Turbulence. This means more indoor party in the next couple of months. Note that one of my favorite DJs is playing-- DJ Gary. So I guess it's going to be worth it.

May 24, 2014
Summer Escalade Pool Party
Damage: 200 bucks
Maybe Going

I'm not really sure If I'm going to be there. But you know if you think about it, a pool with awesome music. With DJ friends is actually worth it. Plus you don't need to travel really far. I might drop by the leave for another party after. Let's just see.

May 24, 2014
Monster Radio Summer Fling
Going
I think I'm going to have fun here. From the word itself Summer Fling, its really kinky and very tempting. I hope its something memorable. I feel that there might be fun games and stuff. Well, its really up to them. If all else fail atleast I get to listen to DJ Brylle, TOM and DJ MCCOY.

May 31, 2014
Club Life 101
Damage: 150 bucks
Not Going

I'm really tempted to go but I'm going for my last summer 2014 vacay with my dearest friend-- yes the Jet Fan girl. I was also not in episode 1 but if they say that there will be a HIP-HOP dance showdown. That's the shit I always missed especially when we partied at Urban club, Halo, Autoshop, 183 and Pops way way back. This is putting the spunk-- Umf back in parties.

That's It. Tell me if I missed out on anything. You just tweet me anytime.

This has been Migs.

Sluts of Summer, Not very slutty.

I don’t wanna bitch out but that was the worst party that Mustard Seed Events PH has ever thrown.  Like ever! The gig was #SlutsOfSummer and I didn’t feel slutty enough. It was probably because of the “Club-ish” Music or the fact that girls weren’t in their game that night, or probably the fact that it was a sausage party. Now the latter, I can’t complain. What’s with the people on stage? Like all the awesome people were on stage, it’s too elitist. Not that I’m an outcast from that social group but usually if you go to a MSE party, everybody raves together equally – no VIP bracketing. And what’s left for us below the stage are people that I’m sure didn’t even paid to be there.  It was terrifying! Hey, I may sound bitter because I was not on stage but no, it was just too wrong of me to go up there when the party was supposed to be below that DJ booth.  Aside from that, the party ended so soon, as early as before 2am. So, why did you even set the venue in Samal if we can’t party all night long? Oh my gosh, I’m ranting!
There is a logical, oh wait, chronological way of stating my facts. There were really a lot of expectations from us. Knowing what sluts are, they are very sophisticated, complex individuals, unpredictable in a good or bad way plus they do it just for the heck of it. All I can say is, there was nothing slutty about it. Going to a party wearing a bikini doesn’t mean you’re slutty - it just means you’re a girl or a she-male. LOL As were there upon entering the resort, we came across a huge number of people thinking that, it was the party. To our mistake the event area was like 500 meters away from the parking area.  Like hoomaygad we had to flaunt ourselves with all those common people and felt awkward. We were actually late.  We got there by 9pm but no one was really there. Major downer, good thing that there were free drinks at the entrance to welcome us, GPS on jelly cups. LOL But It was sort of unlimited, the boys keeps on saying that we should get more. No one was still playing. It was just an auto mix from the virtual DJ PRO. So we had no reason to rave, we just took pictures, bought some souvenirs and pretended that we were having fun.

So we just basically sat there for 30 minunes to wait for a DJ to spin. We are drinking and shit. No problem with drinks, everything was cheap and available. (Duh? Sunset!) Good thing JACK RIPPER was playing. Great mood setter!
The place was slowly filling up with hot people. Friends of the organizers am sure. Then we were shocked when these “Chararat” people as my friend call them, were wearing their bikinis and dancing budots over EDM. Not cool, that’s actually the case and point of what I said a while ago; “Going to a party wearing a bikini doesn’t mean you’re slutty it just means you’re a girl or a she-male”.

At the end we just enjoyed their company and played with them in the dance floor. Two friends had alcohol powered water guns. It was so awesome! Now to the music the 1st set was not that bad, nothing that I haven’t heard before. Then they transitioned to EDM, then Tramp, then RnB and more RnB. Are they forgetting that this is the beach and supposedly a rave party? I love old school but this was not the place for it.

Then the line-up. Where is NINA? Why is Cherry Summer there? So STARR-ish. LOL The only fun part about the party was the liquor shower. Who needs champagne showers when you have unlimited Gilbey’s premium shower!
And you know how Davao people get so fascinated with fireworks. There were 6 blows. Amazeballs!

MC Marga was cool. I like her deep voice and when she says for the nth time “Let’s get started.” How many times again? She was pretty cool! I wanna see her on other parties in DAVAO Hyping male jocks.

The night was filled with picture taking. I don’t know what else to say.

But hey, MSE I know you failed Davao Partyphiles this time but we will never fail to support you.  Let’s keep on RAVING!

I guess I would just give it 6 out of 10.
